I'm Steve Smith.  I'm from Newell, Iowa.  I've crocheted for six years.  I started this handcraft while working at the Newell Nursing Home.  There was a lady who lived there - all she did was crochet.

So, one day I told her that I would like to do that.  It was way too cool!  That afternoon, after my shift, she gave me a crochet hook (which I didn't know what that was!) and a 3 foot piece of yarn.  Needless to say, it wasn't pretty.  But, I practiced

Between that lady, a CNA, my great grandmother and my grandmother I have and am still learning how to crochet.
